1. Overview
Pay-Calc is designed with privacy as a core principle. All financial information you enter stays on your device and is never transmitted to Brightray Technologies servers. The app uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements to free users and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions.
This Privacy Policy applies to Pay-Calc and all applications developed and published by Brightray Technologies LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Brightray Technologies," "we," "our," or "us"). It describes how we handle information in connection with our mobile and desktop applications.
By using any Brightray Technologies app you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy please discontinue use of our apps.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Enter
When you use Pay-Calc or other Brightray Technologies apps you may enter personal and financial information such as:
- Income and salary figures
- Filing status and dependent information
- Home city, state, and zip code
- Payroll and deduction preferences
- Calculator preferences and settings
This information is stored exclusively on your device using your device's local storage. It is never transmitted to Brightray Technologies or any third party.
Information Collected by Third-Party Services
Pay-Calc integrates two third-party services on Android and iOS that may collect certain information as described below. These services are not active on the Windows desktop version of Pay-Calc.
- Google AdMob — displays banner advertisements to free users and may collect your Android Advertising ID, device information, and general location for ad targeting purposes.
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions and may collect device identifiers, purchase history, and subscription status to provide subscription services.
Information We Do Not Collect
Brightray Technologies does not directly collect, receive, or have access to any of the following:
- Personal identification information
- Financial account information
- Precise location data
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Crash reports or diagnostic data
- Any financial data entered into our calculators
App Store Information
When you download our apps through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Store, those platforms may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for data collected by those platforms.
3. How We Use Information
Brightray Technologies does not collect any personal financial information entered into our apps. All calculations operate entirely on your device.
App preferences and settings you configure are stored locally on your device solely to provide a consistent experience between app sessions. This data never leaves your device.
Third-party services integrated into Pay-Calc (Google AdMob and RevenueCat) use information they collect to serve relevant advertisements and manage subscription entitlements respectively. Please refer to their privacy policies for details on how they use collected data.
5. Advertising
The free version of Pay-Calc on Android and iOS displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Advertisements are not displayed on the Windows desktop version of Pay-Calc or for users with an active Pay-Calc Pro subscription.
Google AdMob
Google AdMob may collect the following information to serve relevant advertisements:
- Android Advertising ID (AAID) or iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)
- Device type, operating system, and language
- General location based on IP address
- App usage data for ad performance measurement
Google uses this information in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Opting Out of Personalized Ads
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization
- iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → disable Allow Apps to Request to Track
Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads from the free version of Pay-Calc — it only prevents ads from being personalized based on your interests. To remove ads entirely upgrade to Pay-Calc Pro.
6. Subscriptions
Pay-Calc offers an optional Pay-Calc Pro subscription that unlocks all five calculators and removes banner advertisements on Android and iOS. Subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat.
RevenueCat
RevenueCat is a third-party subscription management platform. When you purchase or manage a Pay-Calc Pro subscription RevenueCat may collect:
- Device identifiers
- Purchase history and subscription status
- App version and platform information
RevenueCat uses this information solely to manage your subscription entitlement and process transactions. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Subscription Purchases
All payment processing for Pay-Calc Pro subscriptions is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Brightray Technologies does not receive, store, or have access to your payment card information or billing details.
Restoring Purchases
If you reinstall Pay-Calc or switch devices you can restore your Pay-Calc Pro subscription at no charge using the Restore Purchases option within the app.
7. Data Storage and Security
All financial data entered into Pay-Calc is stored locally on your device using the operating system's standard secure local storage mechanisms. This data is subject to your device's own security protections including screen lock, encryption, and app sandboxing.
Since Brightray Technologies does not transmit or store your financial data on any server there is no risk of your financial data being exposed through a server-side breach. Your data is as secure as your device.
If you uninstall Pay-Calc all locally stored data associated with the app is permanently deleted from your device.
8. Children's Privacy
Pay-Calc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app's advertising and subscription features are intended for adult users.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used Pay-Calc please contact us at developer@pay-calc.com and we will address your concern promptly.
9. Your Rights
Since all financial data stored by Pay-Calc resides entirely on your device you have complete control over your information at all times. You may:
- View and edit your information directly within the app at any time
- Clear all stored data by clearing the app's local storage in your device settings
- Delete all data permanently by uninstalling the app
- Opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings
- Cancel your Pay-Calc Pro subscription at any time through the App Store or Google Play
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, please note that since Brightray Technologies does not collect or process any personal financial data on our servers, the data access, portability, and deletion rights under GDPR and CCPA apply to data stored on your own device, over which you have full control. For data collected by Google AdMob or RevenueCat please refer to their respective privacy policies and contact them directly to exercise your rights.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our apps or applicable law. When we make changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our apps after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice through our app store listings or app update notes.
